Areas of Expertise

  • Specializes in economic history, especially American and European (1600-1830) and Australia (1860-1905).
  • Currently studying the monetary and financial systems used by the American colonies and by Second Continental Congress during the Revolution, especially with regard to how they employed paper monies.
  • Additional research focus is on labor economics including: indentured servitude, apprenticeship, free wage contracting, convict and slave labor in America (1620-1835).
