- Research focuses on blood pressure, particularly hypertension and its interaction with salty diets and exercise.
- Farquhar concentrates on exercise physiology and can discuss biological responses to exercise including fluid balance and sympathetic (fight or flight) responses.
- Has served on the editorial boards of "Journal of Applied Physiology" and "Autonomic Neuroscience."
