- An Applied Mathematician, Fok uses mathematical models to gain insight into problems from biology and other physical sciences.
- Examines mathematical descriptions of DNA and atherosclerosis, DNA repair, wound healing and the evolution of crystalline (semi-conductor and metallic) surfaces at the atomic scale.
- Can also discuss cell movement.
- Utlizes Partial Differential Equations (PDEs), asymptotic methods, stochastic analysis and simulation in his research.
